Ahni Hecht is a project manager in NREL's Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support Center. With a dual-graduate degree in International Studies and Natural Resources and Sustainable Development she has a passion for international work. In her current role as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-NREL Portfolio operations manager, she supports partnerships and initiatives aimed at delivering clean, affordable, and equitable power in economically developing countries. She works with a cross-lab technical team to identify opportunities where NREL and the broader U.S. Department of Energy laboratory can support global energy transition challenges and ensures the team has everything they need to succeed.
Hecht’s background is varied and includes experience in sustainable agriculture, program management, development, accounting, and human resources. She has done work overseas on multiple projects, including planting design on a permaculture farm in Nicaragua and tracking and tagging dolphins in Argentina.
