For her dissertation work, Alexis Myers worked at NREL with effrey Blackburn, investigating charge generation and exciton dissociation, mimicking photosynthesis in low-dimensional semiconductor heterostructures for use in photovoltaics, quantum information processing and solar fuels. Her passion for energy equity and environmental justice in energy transition initiatives led to her current position as a Research Scientist at NREL. She brings expertise in stakeholder engagement, community partnerships, the development and implementation of community benefit plans, and technical assistance in strategic energy planning. Myers specializes in community-centric renewable energy strategies and studies human behavior factors in energy use to better understand adoption patterns and barriers.
