Amy Robertson is the offshore wind group manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the United States, where she has been an integral part of the team since 2010. In her role, she leads activities aimed at advancing the commercialization of the U.S. offshore wind industry. Notably, Robertson serves as the task leader for the International Energy Agency (IEA) Wind Task 30, overseeing an international research project focused on verifying and validating offshore wind modeling tools used in the industry. She also leads the ARPA-E FOCAL Project, which focuses on experimentally validating tools and designs that incorporate control co-design approaches, ultimately reducing the weight and cost of floating wind systems. Furthermore, Robertson heads the U.S. Department of Energy Offshore Wind System Design & Tool Validation project, where she concentrates on developing, validating, and demonstrating improvements to offshore wind modeling tools to optimize the next generation of floating offshore wind systems. Finally, she serves as a U.S. expert in the IEC Joint Working Forum on Validation, playing a crucial role in developing model validation methods for the wind industry.
