Anagha Krishnan’s interests span synthetic biology, algal biotechnology, and bioenergy research. Krishnan applies genetic engineering tools like CRISPR-Cas9 to study metabolic processes and harness this knowledge to optimize photosynthetic organisms for biofuel production, biomass yield, and carbon utilization. Krishnan’s expertise includes exploring metabolic pathways, photosynthetic efficiency, strain improvement, adaptive evolution, and genomic studies to unlock algae's biotechnological potential. Also, Krishnan investigates how heterotrophic microbes, such as Pseudomonas and clostridium, respond to environmental stimuli and stress, influencing biomanufacturing efficiency.
