Andre Fernandes Tomon Avelino is a regional economist with an interdisciplinary focus on social-ecological systems, especially in the intersection of environmental sustainability and economic development. His primary research focuses on environmentally extended input-output models (EEIO), hybrid LCA-EEIO models, economic impacts analysis, and job/workforce analysis. At NREL, he leads the development of a novel environmentally extended input-output model for the U.S. encompassing socio-economic, resource use, occupations and environmental metrics; performs job and economic impact analysis for different renewable energy projects; and leads the update and expansion of the Jobs and Economic Development Impacts (JEDI) models.
