Ankit Verma’s expertise is in physics-based and data-driven modeling of lithium-ion and next generation lithium metal batteries. His interests lie in unraveling the coupled reaction-transport-mechanics behavior in these electrochemical systems with experiment-driven validation to provide predictive insights for practical advancements. Predominantly, he’s working on improving silicon anodes energy density and calendar life as part of the Silicon Consortium Project, understanding solid-state battery limitations and upcycling of end-of-life electrodes as part of the ReCell Center. His past works include optimization of lithium-ion battery anodes and cathodes for high-power and fast-charge applications and understanding electrodeposition stability in metal anodes.
