Personal Profile

Ben joined NREL in January 2020 and works in the Residential Buildings Research Group. His areas of expertise include thermal analysis of thermally activated building systems, building energy simulation and analysis, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system control optimization.

Prior to joining NREL, Ben worked as an engineer at NORESCO. There, he maintained and updated energy modeling software including California Building Energy Code Compliance for commercial/nonresidential buildings and REM/Rate, and developed interactive dynamic forms for the Title 24 prescriptive compliance path.
