Personal Profile

Chan Charoonsophonsak joined in 2021 as a social and economic analyst for NREL's Alaska Campus in Fairbanks. His work focuses on energy modeling and data analytics. Prior to joining NREL, Charoonsophonsak was a graduate student at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks where he focused on applying Bayesian statistics to impute missing data on atmospheric multivariate time series data from Denali National Park. He has extensive experience with living in the Arctic as he grew up in Utqiagvik, formerly known as Barrow and looks forward to helping communities in the North Slope.
