Debjit Ghoshal's research focuses on growth of 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) for applications in photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, plasmonics, and optoelectronics. In particular, he is interested in synthesis and manipulation of optoelectronic properties of 2D TMDCs by defect engineering, doping, strain engineering, and coupling with plasmons for making them ideal candidates for various energy harvesting applications.
