Emm Fulk (she/they) joined NREL in 2022. Their research focuses on metabolic engineering and development of genetic tools for industrially relevant microbes, with the goal of enabling bioprocessing of carbon dioxide and renewably derived feedstocks to value-added products and sustainable aviation fuels. Their doctoral work focused on development of whole-cell biosensors to understand microbial behavior in complex environments like soils and sediments.
