Personal Profile

Ilya Chernyakhovskiy is a member of the Transmission Group in the Grid Planning and Analysis Center. He conducts applied research, analysis, and modeling engineering that focuses on power system operations with high renewable energy penetrations. Chernyakhovskiy’s research has focused on power system operations and long-term planning, thermal fleet flexibility, grid interactive renewable power, energy storage, as well as policy and regulatory environments for clean energy technologies. He also leads international technical assistance and capacity building efforts, working closely with power sector stakeholders across South Asia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe.
