Personal Profile

Ilya Chernyakhovskiy manages the team that develops the Regional Energy Deployment System (ReEDS), NLR's flagship capacity expansion model for the power sector. As a senior researcher in NLR's Grid Planning and Analysis Center, he conducts applied research, analysis, and model engineering that focuses on power system operations and long-term planning, thermal fleet flexibility, grid reliability, energy storage, as well as policy and regulatory environments for advanced energy technologies. He leads international technical assistance, working closely with power sector stakeholders across South Asia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe.
