Joseph Stiles works primarily in developing new materials and synthetic routes for energy storage systems. His experience is in leveraging soft chemical methods to produce biphasic structures for sodium-ion batteries. He also has extensive materials characterization experience ranging from optical and electron microscopy through X-ray scattering and spectroscopy techniques. He is utilizing this background to advance battery electrode science at the lab.
