Personal Profile

Since joining NREL in 2009, Joyce McLaren has worked on a wide variety of topics including solar market analysis; residential and commercial solar and storage; electric transportation and grid-interactive buildings. She scopes and provides analyses and technical assistance to utilities and electric cooperatives, state energy offices, public utility commissions, and municipalities. McLaren enjoys working with external partners to clarify their needs and priorities, identify technical options through analysis, and facilitate stakeholder engagement. She develops and employs tools, databases and resources that cross NREL directorates to investigate cutting edge research questions and translates findings into action.
