Overview

Personal Profile

Julie Lundquist is a professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her research group uses observational and computational approaches to understand atmospheric influences on turbine productivity, turbine wake dynamics, and downwind impacts of wind energy. She has designed and led field experiments to quantify wind turbine wakes with lidar and in situ instrumentation, and employed these measurements to validate simulations of wind turbine wakes. Most recently, she has led the U.S. Department of Energy's A2e eXperimental Planetary Boundary Layer Instrument Assessment field campaign.
