Personal Profile

K. Shankari is a researcher in the Center for Integrated Mobility Sciences at NREL. Her interdisciplinary research in open-source computer systems for sustainable transportation focuses on collecting, analyzing, and influencing travel behavior. She does this by enabling the collection of rich, end-to-end, multimodal data, which has historically been exceedingly difficult to gather methodically. At the core of this work is Shankari’s development of a novel modular open-source platform NREL Open Platform for Agile Trip Heuristics (OpenPATH), formerly known as “e-mission.”
