Personal Profile

Lena Burkett joined NREL in 2018. She provides technical research management for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Building America Program. In this role, she works to advance the building practices for energy efficient, resilient, and comfortable homes by addressing technological and implementation barriers faced by the residential construction industry.

Professional Experience

Prior to working at NREL, Burkett held an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Fellowship at DOE's Building Technologies Office. Her career has included residential construction, training and running retrofit crews, residential energy rating and modeling, energy analysis, and laboratory research.
