Personal Profile
Matt Joyner is a project manager in the Project Development and Finance group within the Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support Center. Joyner’s work is focused on supporting the Federal Energy Management Program, specifically in performance contracts and distributed energy procurement. Prior to NREL, Joyner worked as a construction project manager on federal and municipal energy savings performance contracts. Joyner has experience overseeing and managing projects that include building management systems and HVAC controls, LED lighting retrofits, boiler and chiller installations, and combined heat and power plant build outs. After completing his undergraduate degree, Joyner served in the U.S. Army as an engineer officer for four years, including one tour to Afghanistan as a route clearance platoon leader.
