Personal Profile

Matt joined NREL in 2019 as a member of the Building Energy Science Group. He works on development of EnergyPlus® and helps facilitate submodel development and integration into EnergyPlus, as well as integration of EnergyPlus with other simulation tools.

Prior to working at NREL, Matt was a research engineer at Oklahoma State University where he designed and performed experiments and developed simulation models for  surface water heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and pile energy systems. He also taught courses on thermal system design, heat transfer, and thermodynamics. Before that, Matt worked as a subcontractor for the Idaho National Laboratory where he worked on thermal-structural analysis and facility mechanical design.
