Michael Deceglie received a bachelor's degree in physics from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in 2006. He went on to study dye-sensitized solar cells at the University of Queensland, Australia, as a Fulbright Fellow, earning a master's degree in physics. He completed his doctoral degree in applied physics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 2013, where his work focused on understanding the microscopic device physics of advanced solar cells and the coupled optical and electrical design of light-trapping structures for solar cells. He joined NREL in 2013 as a postdoctoral researcher focused on photovoltaic performance and reliability. His current research interests include stabilization of thin-film modules, thin-film module reliability issues associated with device and illumination nonuniformity, and outdoor performance of advanced photovoltaic technologies.
