Overview
Personal Profile
Michael Seibert is a research fellow emeritus at NLR and research professor in the Environmental Science and Engineering Department at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden.
Seibert received his BS in Physics from the Pennsylvania State University in 1966 and his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971. Before joining NLR in 1977, then known as the Solar Energy Research Institute, he did tissue culture and fast kinetics research at GTE Laboratories. He has published over 170 papers and review chapters in these fields and holds 8 U.S. and foreign patents. He has served on numerous scientific review and advisory panels and received several awards in solar energy and hydrogen research. Seibert has been on the editorial boards of Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology and "Advances in Solar Energy" since 1981 and the American Institute of Physics International series in Basic and Applied Biological Physics since 1994. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the American Society for Photobiology, the American Society of Plant Biologists, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Biophysical Society.
