Personal Profile

Pat is the lead of the Wind Energy Systems group and has been at NREL since 2001. His research expertise includes wind farm atmosphere interactions, wind turbine design, and aerodynamics and aeroacoustics of wind turbines. Currently, Pat leads the DOE American Wake Experiment (AWAKEN), an observational campaign to examine wind farm atmospheric interactions across scales. He has published over 150 papers related to wind energy and serves as associate editor for the journal Wind Energy. Future research interests include advancing observational technologies for the atmosphere and turbine response.
