Personal Profile

Paula combines her engineering and community engagement background to address technical, social and economic challenges in wind energy. Her current work focuses on identifying land-based and offshore wind supply chain challenges and needs, including implications and opportunities for equity in the industry. Her work involves cost modeling, geospatial analysis and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining NREL, Paula was a GEM Fellow at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory researching the impacts of and equitable solutions for urban heat islands. She also worked at Siemens Gamesa on the design of wind turbine blades and supported multiple decentralized energy projects in Haiti and Argentina through the University of Colorado Boulder.
