Personal Profile

Ray Grout is the director of NREL’s Computational Science Center. He also serves as a point of contact for the Advanced Scientific Computing program, where he leads that program in computing research for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE’s) Office of Science. Grout previously served as group manager of the High-Performance Algorithms and Complex Fluids group within the Computational Science Center.

In addition to these roles, Grout is the technical leader of projects within the DOE Exascale Computing Project that encompass nearly $20 million of research and development over a multiyear period.
