Ron Benioff is the executive director of the Net Zero World Action Center. Housed at NREL, the center brings together personnel from 10 Department of Energy laboratories to implement the U.S. government Net Zero World Initiative, which assists countries in transitioning to decarbonized energy systems. In addition, Ron is the laboratory program manager for international programs at the lab. Benioff joined NREL in 1997 and has led initiatives providing clean energy technical resources and assessments, expert advice, and training to countries around the world.

Prior to joining NREL, Benioff worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on climate change and waste management issues.
