Belding’s project work has supported a variety of technologies and topics, including distributed solar PV, resilience and microgrids, vehicle electrification, and industrial decarbonization through high-temperature heat pumps.

Professional Experience

Prior to NREL, Belding researched energy use in the aluminum sector, explored solar energy disaster resilience in the Dominican Republic, and analyzed pipeline sustainability practices. Before his energy career, Belding was a craft beer brewer in San Diego and Nepal.
