Personal Profile

Sertaç Akar has more than 20 years of professional experience in the fields of geothermal energy and solar thermal energy; resource assessment; direct heat; power generation, development, and sustainability; hybrid thermal systems modeling for industrial process heat applications; techno‐economic analysis; manufacturing cost modeling; and global market and supply chain analysis. During his international career, he worked in Türkiye, Cyprus, the Netherlands, and the United States. He took responsibilities as a researcher, systems engineer, project manager, and energy analyst. Akar joined NREL in 2014. He has a proven track record of delivering technical expertise and organizational enhancements that elevate corporate value. His diverse background in science and engineering enhances his capabilities in multidisciplinary projects and liaisons with team members.
