Personal Profile

Simon Sandler is a Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the Complex Decision Analysis group of the Strategic Energy Analysis Center. Sandler obtained a B.S. in civil engineering at the University of Missouri before getting his M.S. in Sustainable Energy Systems from Rochester Institute of Technology. He joined NREL in 2023 to work on community solar via the National Community Solar Partnership and distributed energy technoeconomic decision support modeling using the REopt software. Prior to NREL Sandler worked in technoeconomic modeling, project development, and policy analysis for solar and other renewables in the public and private sector.
