Personal Profile

Steve Gorin has 30 years of experience in technology research and development, commercialization, and project management, including more than 10 years of experience as a senior manager at NREL. He is the partnership leader for the lab's Materials, Chemical and Computational Science directorate as well as the lead for defense programs at NREL. In these roles, Gorin develops and implements collaborative efforts in materials science, renewable energy generation, energy efficiency, and energy systems integration. His responsibilities at NREL have included project development and management in a broad range of areas, including solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, vehicles, hydrogen, energy system integration, building technologies, and the energy-water nexus.

Prior to working at NREL, Gorin was vice president of U.S. Department of Energy programs at Parsons Corp. and vice president of federal and international programs at Los Alamos Technical Associates.
