Thomas Mathai has 24 years experience as a marine consultant/researcher in the field of marine climatology, modeling and simulation of marine dynamic systems, ship motions, ship maneuvering, wave effects on fixed or floating structures, hydrodynamic load definition, hydroelasticity, wave energy harvesting, etc. At NREL, Thomas is working on technology performance level assessments for marine energy technologies, application of structured innovation to wave energy converter designs, and "flexible material distributed power take-off" wave energy converters.
