Thushara De Silva is an energy systems engineer in the Grid Planning and Analysis Center's Transmission Group. She primarily works with production cost modeling and other models to understand the changing power grid operation and inform grid reliability and resilience measures considering multisector water use, new technology additions, and climate extremes. Some of her research focuses on the future role of hydropower and hydropower capabilities since water resource planning is associated with several nonpower constraints.
