Personal Profile

Willy Bernal Heredia joined NREL in 2015 with a focus on controls and on cosimulation tools for energy-efficient buildings. He has codeveloped MLE+, a cosimulation toolbox for design and deployment of energy-efficient buildings controls. Bernal Heredia was an intern at NREL, developing the framework to model whole-campus dynamics to coordinate and synchronize its multiple loads.

Professional Experience

Prior to joining NREL, Bernal Heredia was the lead controls engineer for Lit Motors where he focused on developing the controls for a self-balancing two-wheel electrical vehicle.
