Personal Profile
Yonghong Chen is a chief scientist leading research in electricity market design, operations, and transmission planning. She joined NREL after more than 20 years at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator. Her work in market design and computational research has tackled real-world operational challenges, addressing increasing uncertainties and variabilities. Her contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards and numerous patents. She is a Fellow of IEEE.
