Alternative Fuels in Trucking - Winter 1996, Vol. 4, No. 3 (Newsletter)

    Research output: NRELMarketing

    Abstract

Two of the articles in this issue discuss the effects of recent federal (IRS and EPA) rulings on liquified natural gas, which extensive research has shown to have the greatest potential of any alternative fuel for the commerical trucking industry. Also featured is a story on the Cummins Engine Company's new L10G natural gas engine. This six-cylinder engine provides plenty of power for bus andon-highway applications, and uses a lean-burn technology (cooler combustion temperatures) that results in reduced levels of oxides of nitrogen emissions and increased engine durability.
