Abstract
This report describes work performed by Utility Power Group (UPG) and Advanced Photovoltaic Systems, Inc. (APS), under a subcontract in Photovoltaic Manufacturing Technology Project Phase 2A. The goals of the subcontract are to address problems that are process-specific and are generally unique to a technology. UPG and its lower-tier subcontractor, APS, have continued to conduct parallel effortsin developing their facturing lines, UPG's POWERGLASS line and APS's EUREKA line. UPG has focused on demonstrating fully functional automated encapsulation and termination stations. APS has focused on continuing the process and quality control and automation projects. Topics investigated and discussed in this report include (1) automated assembly/encapsulation stations, (2) automated glasstransport techniques, (3) enhanced deposition parameter control, and (4) integrated process and quality control for the entire EUREKA system.
