Abstract
This document touches briefly on three aspects of biomass pyrolysis: the composition and properties of fast pyrolysis bio-oils; the initial results and future needs for round-robin tests on suites of fast pyrolysis bio-oils of research and industrial interest; and the goals of a newly instituted task at NREL that will develop a comprehensive data base on the biomass resource and its properties intems of energy uses.
