Apollo(R) Thin Film Process Development: Phase 2 Technical Report, May 1999-April 2000

    Research output: NRELSubcontract Report

    Abstract

In this report, the results are presented and discussed from the following areas: CdS and CdTe optimization. In this section, semiconductor properties, optical properties and device optimization are discussed. Crystallographic characteristics were determined under collaborative work with the Institute of Energy Conversion, (University of Delaware) and NREL. In addition to this, module performanceresults are presented to illustrate the efficiency improvements gained as a result of this research. Reliability and testing. In this section, both indoor stress testing and outdoor long term test systems are described. Detailed design, set up and initial results are presented. Health, Safety and Environment. Three main sections described in this section are on handling of waste treatmentsystems at the Fairfield plant, reclaimed cadmium metal recycling and closed loop/zero discharge studies.
