Battery Requirements for Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles: Analysis and Rationale (Presentation)

Research output: NRELPresentation

Abstract

Slide presentation to EVS-23 conference describing NREL work to help identify appropriate requirements for batteries to be useful for plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles (PHEVs). Suggested requirements were submitted to the U.S. Advanced Battery Consortium, which used them for a 2007 request for proposals. Requirements were provided both for charge-depleting mode and charge-sustaining mode and forhigh power/energy ratio and hige energy/power ration batteries for each (different modes of PHEV operation), along with battery and system level requirements.
