Biological Water-Gas Shift Conversion of Carbon Monoxide to Hydrogen: Milestone Completion Report

    Research output: NRELManagement

    Abstract

This report summarizes the results of research and economic analysis on a biological water-gas shift process for the production of hydrogen. The organism Rubrivivax gelatinosus CBS is a photosynthetic bacteria which can perform the water-gas shift reaction under anaerobic conditions. The report describes some of the technical issues regarding the process, addresses some claimed benefits of theprocess and presents some results from economic studies of different process configurations.
