Boundary Analysis for H2 Production by Fermentation: July 2001--September 2004

Research output: NRELSubcontract Report

Abstract

This report, prepared for DOE's Hydrogen, Fuel Cells & Infrastructure Technologies Program, presents a boundary analysis for the production of hydrogen via fermentation of glucose or other carbohydrates. The Program's hydrogen production cost target goals cannot be met due to the high feedstock cost. The potential for lower-cost sugars to meet cost targets should be investigated.
