Abstract
Based on his profiles of NREL staff, writer Ernie Tucker gives a snapshot of how clean energy innovators have helped transform the energy landscape. The first five chapters trace the story of how these Solar Energy Research Institute/NREL pioneers advanced wind and solar energy, building efficiency, bioenergy, and transportation/hydrogen research. Another chapter showcases the passions and personal journeys of staff. The final two chapters detail the legacy of SERI/NREL's first eight directors, followed by a chapter exploring the biographies of Lab Director Martin Keller and other members of the leadership team, past and present.
