Abstract

A software model is described that was developed to predict the performance of a PV-battery-diesel hybrid power system that was designed, constructed, and tested by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) for the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force (REF) and Expeditionary Energy and Sustainment Systems (E2S2) to provide power to Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). The hybrid power system is called the Consolidated Utility Base Energy (CUBE) system.
