Conversion of Biomass to Chemicals: Current Examples and Opportunities

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

Ongoing research at DOE national laboratories highlights the progress over the past two decades in developing the science, engineering, and technologies necessary to employ biomass as a feedstock for the production of chemicals and materials. Examples of ongoing or completed work will be briefly discussed. These examples reflrct progressive levels of technology maturity from bench-scaleexperimentation to the precompetitive pilot plant development.
