Abstract
NREL's NWTC and its subcontractors have developed a variety of sophisticated computer codes that model wind characteristics, the interactions of the wind with turbine blades, turbine structures, power output, and total wind system operation. This brief highlights these codes?codes that can assist wind turbine designers in creating new designs or investigating problems that show up duringtesting?and it provides instructions for obtaining them.
