Direct Observation of Alkali Vapor Species in Biomass Combustion and Gasification

    Research output: NRELTechnical Report

    Abstract

This report summarizes new date from screening various feedstocks for alkali vapor release under combustion conditions. How the authors successfully developed a laboratory flow reactor and molecular beam, mass spectrometer interface is detailed. Herbaceous species and many agricultural residues appear to pose significant problems in release of alkali species to the vapor at typical combustortemperatures.
