Dominican Republic Wind Energy Resource Atlas Development

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

A wind resource analysis and mapping study was conducted for the Dominican Republic. The purpose of this study was to identify most favorable wind resource areas and quantify the value of that resource within those areas. This was a major study and the first of its kind undertaken for the Dominican Republic. The key to the successful completion of the study was an automated wind resource mappingprogram recently developed at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), a U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory.
