Abstract

This report describes an experiment to determine critical rotor speeds on the Advanced Wind Turbines, Inc., AWT-26/Prototype 3 for variable speed operation. The turbine was instrumented to measure accelerations and the data were reduced to determine areas of potential resonance. Critical rotor speeds were determined for incorporation into the variable speed control algorithm.
