Abstract
This analysis examines the first 1 ,000 MW of wind energy deployment in Iowa and associated economic impacts. We find that this deployment supported 2,300 FTE jobs over the 1999-2008 period, and 270 ongoing, annual jobs to-date. It also supported nearly $290 million in gross economic activity for Iowa during the construction period and approximately $38 million per year during the operatingperiod.
