EVA Encapsulants for PV Modules: Reliability Issues and Current R&D Status at NREL

    Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

    Abstract

We briefly summarize ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) reliability issues and report our research and development results. These results include EVA degradation effects, discoloration factors, approaches to mitigate the EVA discoloration, improved photostability of modified EVA formulations, and plans to identify the best encapsulation schemes and to develop appropriate methodologies for predictingservice life of PV modules.
