Evaluation of the Low-Energy Design and Energy Performance of the Zion National Park Visitor Center

Research output: NRELTechnical Report

Abstract

This report is part of a series of six case studies to develop, document, analyze, and evaluate the processes by which highly energy-efficient buildings can be reliably produced. NREL monitored the energy performance of the Visitor Center Complex at Zion National Park from September 1, 2000 to June 1, 2003. This evaluation was crucial to achieving and verifying the low-energy design goals of thebuilding after post-occupancy. This report presents results from that multiyear performance monitoring. The Park's new transportation system was not studied as part of the building evaluation.
